Who are we?
We are "Black Pearle" an Alternative band with a
Funk / Rock/ Metal edge
Our music is original and fresh with a twist. We started out in July of 2005, members of different bands we came together and fused a whole new sound. Now as we've reconstructed our band, we are here to bring something different with a new metal edge.
Meet the Band:
Eloh...
Lead Singer
Even in birth there was something different about him, for he was to be the only one of three, one month late triplets that survived. With six fingers on each hand which in turn made him the first born son, a sign of earth magic in his native culture. His family moved to NYC from Haiti in the early 80's. By age 6 or seven, his mother decided to buy him a guitar to keep him in the house and out of trouble which he was so good at getting into. He thanked his mom for that. It started him on a journey of self discovery and musical reckless abandon that has fed his many avenues of expression.
His one goal is to live inside the music, to live it and breath it. Like the glow in the Last Dragon! It is never a performance, it is a piece of his day that he wants to share with you. Influenced by Jim Morrison, Old Dirty Bastard, and Tupac Shakur, he decided to start singing with no regard to any set of rules or traditions!!
Terry Shook
Drums/Background Vocals
Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. Influences are, Band of Gypsies, Chicago, Led Zep, and the Motown Sound! Having played up and down the East Coast, with many different artists' , I've gained the richness and attitude of many different styles which is very important in creating a unique style. I think, Black Pearle has that unique sound that will capture music lovers every where!
Mitch Springle
Lead Guitarist
Born and raised in Manhatten, the Chelsea area. Some of his influences are Neal Schon (Journey), Prince, Nile Rodgers (Chic) and alot of metal bands: Annihilator & Helloween. His approach to the guitar is to invoke different feelings thru sound, wether it be love, anger, hurt or a carefree expression. Not one to be bound by rules and regulations he plays for mental release not a mental challenge. The one thing that has always been a steady influence in his life, is his love for music.
Ken Collins
Bass
A native New Yorker, was born from parents from the South. He grew up in the projects and found peace of mind in music. Through his brother, being a DJ and a revolutionary, he experienced music from artists like "The Last Poets" to George Clinton. As a teenager he grew fond of rock music. One of his favorite artists is Ozzy Osbourne. "I find music to be the best drug; certain kinds of music trigger different emotions but doesn't hurt the body."
